Who We Help

Take our free assessment to find out how you or your child rate across seven different executive function domains.  You will get immediate results.

Your child is scattered, struggling, and depressed. They say they hate school. They think they're dumb.

Before you hire another English tutor, consider this: Has my child ever learned HOW to learn?

Chances are they are being required to use EF skills they don't yet have, and may never get without purposeful teaching.

Watch our video to hear more about how poor EF skills can cascade into other issues.

The good news?

EF skills CAN be taught, however, it must be done properly if skills are to last into adulthood.

CoPilot differs from other approaches by its adherence to these 3 evidenced-based keys to effective EF coaching:

1.

Skills must be specifically taught:

Most of us don’t just “pick them up” intuitively.

2.

The skills must be applied in the student’s life

The skills must be applied in the student’s life over a significant period of time (at least 60-90 days). This is where a good certified EF coach comes in.

3.

Environment matters:

The student must be placed in situations where using EF skills matters. Again, this is where a coach can help hold a student accountable to their plan.

Executive function skills are crucial for various aspects of daily life. They include:

1
Working
Memory:

The ability to hold and manipulate information in one's mind while working on a task.

2
Attention:

The ability to control impulses and resist distractions. It involves thinking before acting.

3
Cognitive
Flexibility:

The capacity to switch between different tasks or ways of thinking and adapt to changes.

4
Metacognition:

Being aware of and regulating one's own thoughts and actions.

5
Planning and
Organization:

The ability to create a plan of action, set goals, and organize tasks in a systematic way.

6
Task Initiation and Completion:

The ability to start tasks independently and without procrastination.

7
Time
Management:

Effectively managing time

and prioritizing tasks.

Studies indicate EF skills correlate more highly with success than intelligence or talent.

CoPilot is also defined by its track record of research-based success. In one study, students were given an EF assessment before, during, and after an eight-week coaching course. Students improved in all seven skills. Even more exciting, their skills crescendoed over time--one year after their course, outcomes were even better than when tested at the end of coaching. This demonstrates how skills, once gained, build momentum as students see success.
